Step-by-step PDF guide

How to Merge PDF Files in the Correct Order

Combine multiple PDFs into one document while preserving the intended page sequence.

Prepare your files

Rename files in the order you want them to appear, such as 01-cover.pdf and 02-appendix.pdf. Verify that each file opens before combining them.

Merge step by step

Open Merge PDF, select the documents, adjust their order if the interface allows it, then create and download the merged PDF. Review the first and last page of each section.

What to check after merging

Confirm the complete page count, page orientation, hyperlinks when relevant, and whether headers and page numbers are part of the original files.

Common problems

Encrypted or damaged PDFs may need attention before merging. A “Carried Forward” heading or existing page number is usually source document content, not a message added by the merge tool.

Try it on PDFEditFlow

Use a non-sensitive test file first, then check the exported result before sharing.
